Fellow and tutor in French
I teach French language and literature from the Renaissance to the present to students reading French. I also lecture in the Faculty of Modern Languages and supervise graduate students working in early modern French literature.
My research interests lie in seventeenth-century French literature, especially drama. I have published books with Oxford University Press on both Racine and Molière. My current work focuses particularly on the relationship between drama in performance and drama in print. I have written on the significance of illustrations in those seventeenth-century editions that were illustrated, and on the significance of the punctuation in early editions.
