Annual ASC lecture : Paul Newman

Keble's Annual ASC lecture was delivered this year by Professor Paul Newman. In a captivating talk, Paul discussed his ground-breaking research into the development of robotic cars.
Keble Professorial Fellow Paul Newman gave a scintillanting talk for the ASC's Annual Lecture 2014 this term. Paul has an engaging style, with questions encouraged throughout. A full house in the O'Reilly Lecture Theatre was treated to a talk full of lasers, robotics, mapping, and road tests, showcasing the research Paul is leading through the Mobile Robotics Group.
Paul's group is currently occupying the ground floor at Felstead House, part of the Acland site, where we plan to locate the new development for the ASC.
Paul Newman is the BP Professor of Information Engineering at the University of Oxford and an EPSRC Leadership Fellow. He heads the Mobile Robotics Group within the Department of Engineering Science which enjoys a world leading reputation in mobile autonomy - developing machines and robots which map, navigate through and understand their environments.
